Registered Nurse Sustained Injury to Neck and Right Arm on the Job

Patricia, a Registered Nurse, was prepping the operating room for a new patient. She was moving a machine and suddenly felt a pull causing pain in her neck and right arm. She continued working but the pain was ongoing. Patricia went to an Orthopedic Physician and explained what happened to her at work and that her pain continued. The doctor administered a cervical injection, and she was prescribed pain medication. Patricia continued to experience pain and diagnostic tests were ordered. Patricia was advised that she would need C4-C7 anterior cervical discectomy and fusion. She underwent the procedure and later went to physical therapy.

Patricia continued to experience pain and her physician advised that she would be unable to return to work as a nurse.

Patricia contacted Attorney Jim Brady for a case evaluation. Patricia’s injury at work prevented her from returning to her position as a Registered Nurse. A claim for Social Security Disability Benefits was filed and benefits were awarded. Patricia received a substantial Lump Sum Settlement from the worker’s compensation insurer.
